Summer of Age 2015

For this years Summer of Age we have once again joined forces with Young Bristol with the kind support of Middleton’s and Quartet who have helped us in offering an exciting, varied programme of activities for people of all ages to get involved in. All the activities aim to bring young people and those over 55 together in meaningful positive activities, and we strongly encourage parents to attend with kids but also grandparents with grandchildren. Last year we saw three generations of the same family attend Kurling sessions, grandparents with grandchildren enjoying table tennis and many activities being led by young people for those 55 plus.

This year’s programme kicks off on Monday 27th July with Water Sports with the team at All-Aboard in the docks followed by the first of many IT sessions. iTea4U will be running all summer with 1 to 1 support from a team of young people for those 55 plus to come along with laptops, tablets, mobile phones etc and find out everything they want to know. For those who fancy showcasing their creative flair, we have arts and crafts in Shirehampton or poetry writing in Ashton. Ever wondered what goes on inside your local youth club? Now’s your chance. The doors will be opening up for everyone to try out the fantastic facilities available and meet other local people. When it comes to sport, you won’t be left short on choice with a multi-sport day at City Academy, table Tennis in Avonmouth  or New Age Kurling at a choice of 7 venues! For the dare devils out there, come along to our Bush Craft and High Ropes activity day in Failand to try something a bit different. If all that isn’t enough we have cooking classes, a Shaun in the City hunt and the great generations bake off, all finished off with a Family Fun Day on Friday 28th August.

If you would like a programme sent to you, call the office on 0117 353 3042 and hopefully we will see you at an event this year.
