‘Step into My Shoes’ in the Media

On Wednesday 2nd March LinkAge launched its 'Step Into My Shoes' exhibition at the Engine Shed in Bristol. The exhibtion aims to raise awareness of the ever increasing issue of isolation and loneliness in Bristol, but also asks local businesses how they can support local older people. As part of the two month exhibition, LinkAge will also be holding Intergenerational workshops at the Engine Shed to highlight how the support of younger people through technology can help to overcome loneliness.

LinkAge has recieved great publicity from the exhibition with a piece on Made in Bristol TV's 6 news. Reporter Rachael visited LinkAge's Henbury Hub to speak to older person Grace Holmes, who was once someone who was impacted by isolation and loneliness. Now Grace can be found at local activities such as Line Dancing, Cooking and New Age Kurling, and she even runs her own Monthly Coffee Morning. Made In Bristol also spoke to Senior Community Development Worker Ricky Bush and Engine Shed Director Nick Sturge. To view the coverage click here and skip to 02:02.
