LinkAge Participants Walk the Boards of Bristol Hippodrome

A group of 30 LinkAge participants from across the city, recently had the unique opportunity to go on a backstage tour of Bristol’s Hippodrome theatre, during the run of Mama Mia. The tour was given by an expert guide and included going on stage, seeing the curtain rise, going underneath the stage, into the musician’s pit, a trip into the gods to see the dizzying pulley systems for the scenery and a look around the dressing rooms and costume stores.

A wonderful experience was had by all and everyone was blown away by the guides depth of knowledge about the buildings history throughout the last century. There was even tales about the various ghosts that also inhabit the old theatre including the guides own personal encounter!

LinkAge participant Bob said, "Many thanks for the invite to the Backstage Tour of the Hippodrome. It was an excellent way to spend a morning and provided a unique insight to one of Bristols landmarks."

LinkAge would like to say a huge thank you to the Bristol Hippodrome, for offering LinkAge the chance for our participants to go on this one off tour. You will certainly see them queuing at the box office as everyone’s appetite were piqued to catch the next show.
