Be Together Bristol for #LonelinessAwarenessWeek

On Friday 21st June, Sally and Tracy from LinkAge Network joined a host of other charities and services, from across Bristol, to come together as part of Loneliness Awareness Week 2019. The family-friendly event titled ‘Be Together Bristol’, was held at the Colston Hall, and delivered by Bristol Music Trust and Marmalade Trust. The event showcased the support available for people across the city and focused on reducing the stigma around loneliness.

The day’s offering included laughter workshops, swing dancing, comedy, music and a whole host of other activities, giving participants the chance to try out new things and meet others.

The event provided the opportunity for Sally and Tracy to chat to visitors and let them know about what’s on in Bristol in the way of activities and support for the over 55’s. LinkAge Network’s continual partnership with local organisations, including St Monica Trust, Bristol Charities, and Home Instead, to co-produce a series of ‘What’s On’ guides, has created a convenient and accessible ‘go to’ for older adults to learn of activities where new friendships can be made and a sense of community can be found.
