Nordic Walking Group

Nordic walking is like ordinary walking, but you use two light poles. This improves your posture, and makes it easier to walk with confidence. Your fitness, energy and strength also increase in an enjoyable way.

It is welcoming to people who may not have exercised for a while; are recovering from injury and/or operations; or just want to try a different way to get fitter, outdoors in green space.

Through Nordic Walking, we support people with a range of health conditions: after hip replacements and cancer treatment; with arthritis, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, arthritis and depression/ anxiety.

You don’t have to wear special clothing: just clothes and footwear so you can walk on the grass for an hour and move your arms and legs freely. Some of our students Nordic Walk comfortably in hijabs, abayas and salwar kameez.

These classes are not suitable for complete beginners. Please contact Amber/ Maddie at the Beehive Centre to find out about beginner workshops and tasters.
