Bristol City Community Trust's and LinkAge's Walking Football group, along with two teams from Havant and Waterlooville, will be travelling to Brittany to take on a French team in a two day tournament.
On the 2nd October, Keith, Alan G, Alan J, Chris, Tim and Ian are transporting their silky skills on the ferry to Brittany and then travelling to Cléguérec to take part in the tournament. The brutal schedule will see them play 12 games over two days after which one team will be crowned champions.
LinkAge would like to wish them the best of luck (not that they will need it!) in the tournament and looks forward to welcoming them home victorious. Maybe we could turn our LinkAge Open Bus Tour on the 6th October into a victory parade of Bristol!
LinkAge and Bristol City Community Trust’s Walking Football takes place at South Bristol Sports Centre every Tuesday, from 10:30 – 11:30am. There are beginners and an intermediate sessions and afterwards the group relocates to the bar for a catch up and social quiz. Everyone over 55 is welcome to come and take part.
