Volunteers ready to support Hartcliffe and Withywood residents to get out and about

Do you know someone who:

  • lives in Hartcliffe or Withywood?
  • is aged 65 years+?
  • would like to get out of the house and involved in fun local activities?

If so, then the ACE Neighbours project could be just the thing!

We know that getting out more, meeting people and enjoying some of the many activities that go on these days is really good for the health of older people – but getting out more is easier said than done.  It can be a bit daunting, so not surprisingly most people would prefer to have someone to go with.

If you know someone who would like someone to help them choose an activity or two – and go along with them for moral support – then get in touch with us.  We’ll match them up with a volunteer, they’d get to know each other first and then together try out some of the activities going on in Hartcliffe and Withywood – or just go out for a walk or a cup of tea – whatever they would like to do.

The volunteer would meet the person a number of times over six months, initially spending more time with them but as time goes on they gradually reduce their support.  During the six months that the programme will last we would arrange some small social gatherings to meet the other people taking part in ACE Neighbours – these will be occasional and informal get-togethers where everyone can meet and chat over a cuppa.

Sound good?  If you would like to make a referral for someone you know, please do get in touch for more information.  You can also find the referral criteria and referral form on our website by clicking here.

We have trained volunteers ready to support people in Hartcliffe and Withywood to get out and about now, so get in touch!
