Active Ageing Bristol is a ground breaking new project set up to transform attitudes to, and opportunities for, sport and physical activity.

This fully inclusive programme will build on existing provision and develop new opportunities to encourage people aged 55 and over to become and stay active.

Everyone, regardless of their age, background or level of ability, should live actively to their fullest potential.

Keeping as active as possible is good for your mental wellbeing as well as your physical health, as it increases our social networks, helping to reduce the risk of us becoming lonely or isolated.

The core partners (funders) of the programme are The Anchor Society, Bristol Sport Foundation and St Monica Trust, with support from LinkAge Network.

LinkAge Network are delighted to have been chosen as Almeda’s charity of the year for 2019. They kick off this support when three members of their team will fly the LinkAge Network flag at the Bristol 10k in May.

Aged 40+ and have a spare moment to complete our short questionnaire? The questionnaire is part of research which we have commissioned the University of Bristol to undertake, and will inform how we work to prevent people becoming isolated and lonely in later life.
