People volunteer because they want to make a real difference, but volunteering doesn’t just have to be about what you can do for others. Our volunteers get a lot out of the experience too.

The benefits of volunteering:

  • Meet new people – volunteering with people who are as passionate about a cause as you are, is a great way to meet like-minded people.
  • Improve your health – getting out and about and meeting new people is a great way to improve both your mental and physical health.
  • Rebuild your confidence – if you are looking to learn new skills or try something you don’t normally get to do, then volunteering is a great way to do this and build your self-esteem as well!
  • Boost your CV and get back into work – volunteering is a great way to get a reference and fill gaps in your work experience, it can also be a good way to try out different types of work.

How can I volunteer:

There are lots of opportunities to volunteer with the LinkAge Network, whether you have a project that we can support you with setting up, or if you are able to spare a couple of hours to help us with collections at events then we would like to hear from you.
