LinkAge Network was pleased to take part in the Social Innovation Programme (SIP), run by Bristol Hub, a University of Bristol student group.
The initiative pairs students with Bristol-based social impact organisations to find innovative solutions to challenges faced by charities and social enterprises.
Students worked alongside Tracy Edwards-Brown, Community Development Coordinator, to investigate how LinkAge Network can engage more with people aged 50 – 65 in order to prevent loneliness and isolation.
SIP student Emma Hanson said: “The community awareness we gained from the programme was really valuable.”
Five charities participated in the SIP, working with 25 students ranging from first year undergraduates to PhD students. Each team was supported by a mentor from Burges Salmon, an independent law firm who are partners in the programme.
LinkAge Network’s Tracy Edwards-Brown praised the students’ research, and said their findings had been useful for the team and our partners.
