Bristol Energy working with LinkAge

Bristol Energy, a local energy supplier owned by Bristol City Council, has teamed up with LinkAge Bristol to help local older people to keep warm this winter, through energy saving tips and fun activities and workshops.

The colder seasons can be difficult for many. Keeping your home warm can cost a lot more money, and the risk of loneliness and social isolation grows stronger as the nights grow longer. So to help bring people together, Bristol Energy has hosted a series of events with LinkAge throughout the year.

LinkAge participants have enjoyed a special preview of Briswool, made gingerbread houses, tried chair yoga and fabric painting and learnt how to make their homes more energy efficient.

One of the older people who attended the sessions said, "We would like to thank you for yesterday’s get together at the [Keeping warm and active in your home] workshop. We had a really nice time and are looking forward to attending the next sessions."

The events took place at the Bristol Energy Hub on Bristol’s Harbourside, which also offers face-to-face customer care and a place to talk about your bill over a cuppa.

If you are one of the two thirds of people across the country on an expensive standard variable energy deal by switching your gas and electricity provider you could save up to £300 per year on your energy bills (Ofgem).

Switching is quick and straightforward and if you choose to switch to Bristol Energy and quote the code LINKAGE001 when you switch, Bristol Energy will donate up to £30* to LinkAge Bristol.

You can join us for more fun activities and energy saving tips at the Bristol Energy Hub in 2017.
